Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been achieved on hard courts

A revitalized the Russian player claimed his maiden championship for over two years with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the competition final.

Medvedev, a ex- number one, has experienced a challenging period, managing just one match at the major tournaments and suffering a meltdown at the American major.

His inconsistency on the professional circuit - and struggles with his service game in particular - caused him falling of the elite rankings and eventually parting ways with former coach his previous coach.

Presently working with Johansson and his other coach, he has consistently progressed in the past month - climaxing in a tightly fought three-set victory over opponent Corentin Moutet.

This represents the player's maiden title since the Rome competition and first on a hardcourt from spring of 2023.

The win also means he has secured 21 victories at twenty-one various events.

"For the first time I have attended a tournament with my both daughters simultaneously, so to win a trophy is particularly special," stated ranked player Daniil Medvedev.

"This victory is in honour of my second daughter Victoria, because the first title I won when my older daughter her name was delivered was for her."

Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his past six title deciders, including in Halle earlier this year.

His counter-punching approach and recurring reactions on the tennis court had prompted commentators to wonder if his capacity to compete at the highest level was over.

Yet the player has made changes in the past month, making an effort to advance forward and compete aggressively, backed up by an better serve.

The champion came back from a deficit in the initial set against the challenging Moutet, taking four of the last five exchanges to gain the advantage.

The competitors exchanged breaks in the following set before Moutet, bidding for his initial professional championship, seized the initiative to push for a decider.

The opponent defended 4 initial chances in a close third set before Medvedev secured a break to that score to close out the victory.

Appropriately, Medvedev clinched the win with a shot at the net, with the Frenchman unable to handle a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
